Same here! I only use wine that I would drink.

Cooking wine?
Most recipes call for dry white wine, so I use Sauvignon Blanc.

Re: Cooking wine?
I only use wine I would drink... so it is always something off the our wine rack. Always pinot grigio for white, either a merlot or Cabernet if red.

Re: Cooking wine?
I usually like to cook with sauvignon blanc. it reduces well and is more dry. But I have used chardonnay many times and it is fine. For reds I will use whatever I open - I don't have a standard that i use.

Re: Cooking wine?
A dry wine usually cooks better. Sauvignon blanc is my favorite to cook with. And don't spend a lot of money on it...not worth it! A nice low (not cheap) to mid-priced wine works well.
