I do. It really isn't bad. I am not far into the Bronx from the Throgs Neck. It normally takes 35-40 minutes.

I do.
The morning isn't bad about 35 minutues. But the drive home can take 1-1.5 hrs.

DH would be going from West Babylon to the first exit off Throgs Neck. His school is 8:30 - 3:20 so I figured about 45-50 on the way in and at least an hour on the way home. Sound about right?

You are right about the morning, but the afternoon is worse. I get out at 2:50 (D75) and I get home to Levittown around 4:30, if I drive. And the days I stay late (3:15ish) I get home around 4:30-4:45.
I actually take the train in and I leave at 6:15 and get to school in the south Bronx at 7:30. I leave at 2:50 and get home at 4:30. I like the consistency, time to get work done and the cost (wageworks benefit) so I prefer the train. I take the LIRR to Woodside and then the 7 to the 4/5 and then the 6 to Brook Ave)

Boo! I would estimate an hour there and an hour and a half home, depending on traffic. I find the traffic worse over the Throg's Neck and I take the RFK instead and I think it helps a little.

Yowsers! From Sayville to the Bronx could potentially put you at 1.5-2.5 hours, depending on traffic and where exactly in the Bronx. That is a HIKE

Anyone commute from LI to the Bronx?
I go from Wantagh to Morris Heights in S. Bronx. I leave at 5:45. It takes about 45 min in am and about an hour 15- 1.5 hours to get home (except Mon and Fri bc we leave at 2:20) : )
