Id love to do it but in my opinion it is SUPER expensive. more so than gymnastics, karate etc. Instead Im trying to talk my MIL into buying a horse and teaching us how to ride LOL Good luck!

Where are you located?

East Islip, there's a few places not too far from us. I've heard that it's expensive, so I'm hoping once she smells them she'll change her mind! lol

My older DD has been riding for years. Yes the more involved she gets the more expensive it is. But I do love to watch her ride and jump.

I just started my younger DD in it. She is 5.
They both go to Thomas's in Melville. Love this place they actually teach you how to care and tack your horse we other places we have been to just walk the horse out to you.

full year lessons for 9 years and older
$1696 tues/saturday and sunday lessons are $1205 (there are less sunday lessons due to horse shows)

Fall lessons which are a series of 10 are $450 and sundays (7 lessons) are $315

It is extremely expensive so my friend signs up her daughter through the town program (Town of Huntington). She goes to a local stable for town lessons which cost less than the stable's own lessons.

Not sure where you live but they have lessons at the Lakewood Stables on the border of Rockville Centre and Lakeview (in Hempstead Lake State Park). I looked at the lesson prices and didn't think they were too outrageous.

Knoll Farm in Brentwood is great. Babylon Riding Academy in West Babylon is also popular.
