DS' first horseback riding lesson! YES... PICS included!
I think I was more excited than he was. Today was the "introduction" and see how he was doing. We did 1/2 time of a regular session. I found him a special needs program. We start the full sessions next week.
I am hoping it will help him a lot. He needs to strengthen his core and has very poor side to side balance. So he will have 2 people helping him. One for the horse and a side walker to make sure he stays in the saddle.
He is such a "big" boy but he looked so tiny on the horse! He had to wear an XS helmet and the stirrups were too long (even the shortened version) but they worked it out.

How cool !! That would be so good for DD. She's got poor core strength and vestibular issues too but she is petrified to get on a horse.

Dan had to volunteer for his schooling for a program that did this. I went with him to volunteer. I couldn't believe how amazing a program it is!!! I had no idea how beneficial it is and was truely amazed by the end of the day. Very glad that he enjoyed!

That's great!! I met a little boy and his dad a few months ago in the park (West Hills) who were coming from a therapy riding session. They raved about it. Go EJ!!
