Hi-Risk OB
My OB wants me to see a hirisk ob about the clotting and being on 80mg of Lovenox and BA. They dont think my bloodwork shows anything significant to warrant being on such a high dose...
I told them i was originally only on 40mg, but during a CD3 or whatever sono Dr B upped it to 80mg because of what he saw with the bloodflow...
I really dont want to be on Lovenox anymore, its a pain in the ass to have to stop what im doing ever 12hrs, and its getting harder to find a spot to do it. But i dont want to come off if i dont have to....
Did anyone else come off Lovenox?

Is that because they did b/w while you were ON lovenox?
I begged to get off it but my doc wouldnt let me. But I'm not on such a high dose.

Re: Hi-Risk OB
how bout seeing a hematologist for their opinion? My sister saw high risk OB Dr. Victor Klein and also was seen by hematologist Dr. Gerard Donnelly. Dr. Donnelly was the one who managed her lovenox and then heparin at the end.

Re: Hi-Risk OB
what are you on it for exactly? I was on it for my entire first pregnancy for MTHFR and factor V leiden (hetero).
this pregnancy, my perionatologist suggested I not need it as protocol has changed. no issues yet at 23w

Hi-Risk OB
I would see a hematologist. I am on lovenox but only 40 mg a day ( I am 33 weeks) and have been on since 5.5 weeks. Yes it's getting harder to find a place to inject but I will be on until 48 hours before my induction. I am also on ba and will stop that 1-2 weeks before my induction. I am on because I have antiphospholipid ( aps) blood clotting issue. I am only on the profolactic dose.
I did an initial consult with dr b after I was diagnosed by my hematologist and dr b said I would have to be on lovenox at least 2 times a day.....my hematologist said no research warranted this. Like I said I only went to dr b forthe consults but I think he sometimes tries to push more mess than needed.....I'm not trying to start drama. I FULLY trust my hematologist and he has gotten me this far

Hi-Risk OB
I think Dr. B is lovenox happy. He had me on shots twice/day also because of a blood flow thing. When I was released from him and saw a maternal-fetal medicine doc, they didn't see a reason for it. So, I came off it and have been on just baby aspirin for the rest of my pregnancy (from 12 weeks till now - nearly 38 weeks) with no problems whatsoever.
FYI, Dr. B did give his "okay" to come off the lovenox (he knew that other docs don't see it the same way as he does) but did say that had I remained a patient of his, he'd have kept me on it. I'm so glad I came off it.

i am no expert but just for me i think it was the right amount of lovenox discussed by all my docs that has kept this pregnancy going
but if i had to pick the one that would know the most it would be a hemo

Nope, its based on the original RL panel that Dr B ran last September. I have to fill out a bunch of paperwork for the HiRisk appt and bring all the B/w that Dr B did.

Re: Hi-Risk OB
thhis si just my dx and what they told me..
bc i have such clotting issues and how u naturally clot when u r pregnant..and the proof is my d dimer keeps going up even after being on 200 mg of lovenox and a aspirin a day
the docs all talked and when is asked if i was staying on after 12 weeks or at lease going down a dose my ob said look we all feel comfy keeping u on what u r on
this way if god forbid u start to clot u r on the right path to take care of it anyways, meaning what i am on is they way i would be treated anyway so why change it
and yet i still continue to get clots in my uterus

My OB said none of my clotting bloodwork was sever enough to be on Lovenox at all, but they wont do anything without approval from the hirisk OB... They said everything seems borderline .. I'll find out tomorrow i guess.
