Health coverage for nutritionist?

Anyone go to a nutritionist and have part or the majority be covered by health insurance?

I don't have a problem per se, but I've kind of been making up my own meal plans and nutrition as I go along. Now that I'm closer to my goal, I thought I'd like to get an expert opinion, especially if I don't have to pay an arm and a leg.

My insurance would only pay for it if I had a medical condition. It sucks but I'm very happy there is nothing wrong with me

That being said, I do see a holistic nutritionist here in Manhattan. I pay 150 a session, every two weeks for the first month or so and now it's once a month. It's been 4 months since I've been working with her and I've lost 7 lbs (I only have about 10 to loose) and have cleaned up my eating 100%. She's also been great about waving me off of fads and snake oil type scams that are everywhere in the "health" industry.

I think it's worth it if you need a bit of guidance and support. Good luck

People with diabetes are eligible. My inlaws insurance covered visits...but they never went

No diabetes. I got a pamphlet for a holistic place in Stony Brook, seems pretty good. Maybe I'll do it anyway.

My health insurance does cover it. I went once, it was great but I have a pretty balanced diet as it is so it wasn't that useful to me.
