Cake Pop Pans..good idea or not?

So I bought a cake pan a couple of days ago and went online last night to look for recipes and most of them recommend backing the cake in a cake pan, crumbling it up and mixing it with frosting.....is this easier than using a cake pan? If you use a cake pan you then I guess you dont mix the frosting with the cake?

Any guidance?

a cake pop pan will basically make munchkins...they will be dry inside. It's just a preference. I always make tgem by crumbling cake and mixing with frosting.

I've also heard that they're more difficult to make when they're in the pan because they don't stick together as much as when they're mixed with frosting. They tend to fall off of the stick.

I got a cake pop pan (I think it was actually called a "bake pop" pan) as a gift. I've used it, and as pp pointed out, they were pretty dry inside AND I did have issues with them falling off or down the sticks. The sticks definitely were harder to secure.

HOWEVER - they made perfectly round pops that looked beautiful! I will probably use my pan again, but I wouldn't recommend buying it to anyone who doesn't have it.
