If your kids sleep on bunk beds...

If your kids sleep on bunk beds but one is an earlier riser than the other: does it affect their sleeping patterns in any way? I am (kind of) thinking of getting bunk beds for my kids. I know if I even mention the fact they will both be super excited, but the problem is that my oldest is normally an early riser and my youngest can sleep and sleep if allowed. Normally, the oldest wakes up and comes out of the room without waking the youngest up but I am concerned that it will not be the case if he will have to climb down from the top over the youngest's bottom bed. They are now is a small room together with their beds very close to each other, but still those are separate standing beds... Any advice based on experience would be appreciated!

Once they get used to it I don't see an issue with one waking the other one up. The first few nights/weeks may be an adjustment just because its something new, but once into it, there should be no issues waking each other up.

We have our early riser on the bottom and our "sleeper" on the top. Its just easier for the non sleeper to get up and out without waking the sleeper.

My early riser is on the bottom bunk and the later riser is on the top...I didn't do it on purpose, it was totally by chance. My younger one often goes up to wake her sister up, but she just goes back to sleep. They have really learned to handle sleeping in the same room easily and don't really seem to hear or be disturbed by the other.
