moms who sleep on a different floor than their kids
DD#2 is 3 months old and still in our room. I'd like to move her out but here's my problem-our house has 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 down. The downstairs BR is our playroom. Upstairs is our room and my 2 year olds room. Eventually the girls will share, but I'm not comfortable putting the baby in there yet b/c she sometimes gets up at night-although sleeps through most of the time. I don't want her waking up my older DD. So-would you put the baby to sleep downstairs with a video monitor? I feel like we'd all sleep better that way-but for some reason I worry about her being downstairs and us being upstairs. WWYD?

Re: moms who sleep on a different floor than their kids
My son is 4 months old and going in with his brothers right next door to me, and I still can't move him. He seems so little and I am not ready to move him yet. I couldn't imagine a different floor

Re: moms who sleep on a different floor than their kids
my son will be 3 months next week, he has been in his crib a couple of times so far which is upstairs, we are downstairs. Next week he will be in it full time. I guess I feel more comfortable cause my 11yr old is up there with him. We will eventually all be upstairs when we redo our home, but for now, it's what we have. You have to do what's comfortable for you, you prolly won't get better sleep if your tossing and turning thinking about the baby, KWIM

Re: moms who sleep on a different floor than their kids
You need to do what makes you comfortable would you be able to give the 2 bedrooms upsairs to the kids each have their own room and you and dh move downstairs? That's prob whay I would do...
Dh and I just bought our home we have 2 bedrooms on main level and 1 in the basement, we want to have another baby asap so the best set up was 2 kids on main level us in the basement, I'm not 100% happy with it and I don't love it BUT it works and its the best set up for now, eventually we'd love to expand and redo so we can have 4 bedrooms all on the same floor. It was terrible to adjust atfirst but the video monitor makes it doable! Good luck

We have an expanded ranch. 2 bedrooms on the first floor and 2 on the 2nd. The master BR and my DDs is on the first floor my 7 week old is on the 2nd. I don't have a video monitor on him (yet) but I'm fine with the setup. You have to do what makes you comfortable.

Thanks everyone. I think I might try it. I'm just hesitant to put her with my older daughter b/c she's such a good sleeper and I don't want her disturbed.

It took me 5 mos to move DD because her room is upstairs and our room and DS' room are down, but it has gone better than I thought. Once I did it it was great. The video monitor is really a big comfort to me. Good luck!
