parboil sausage
can someone tell me what to do please?? i ultimately want to cut in slices and brown them in a saute pan to throw into pasta with spinach. i just like to have explicit directions :)

I'll tell you what I do, which seems like what you're looking for. I put the sausage in a saute pan with some water, maybe a quarter inch or so. Pop the cover on and cook about 10 minutes on medium high, flipping half way through. Once they seem to be cooked through, take the cover off and let the water cook off. You can also add some olive oil at that point. Cook until the outside is brown, turning often.

Or, you can do what I do which is broil the sausage in the toaster oven. While they're broiling, boil water in pasta pot, throw in the spinach till wilted, take out with tongs and submerge in ice water, cook pasta in the spinach water and by the time the macaroni is done the sausage should be done. Slice it and saute garlic in some olive oil, toss in the sausage, spinach and pasta.
