sausage and peppers in a skillet Q - olive oil or nothing?
How do you cook your sausage - do you cook in a skillet with olive oil or without?
I've done it both ways and both came out fine to me...
How do you do it?
Also - I cook them whole and I don't slice until they've finished cooking - otherwise the filling starts popping out when I'm cutting them raw. Any suggestions?

I use water.
I cook them till water evaporates, take them out whole...slice them while hot, then throw back in with peppers and onions.
about 3 minutes later, I add diced tomatoes.

I boil first and then cook them in a skillet with olive oil.

Me too. I boil them whole till the water evaporates. I then remove them, cut them and add them back to the skillet with a drop of olive oil. The oil helps the edges brown.

Re: sausage and peppers in a skillet Q - olive oil or nothing?
Thanks everyone - I was afraid to try the boiling route (didn't know how long it'd take to boil the water dry and I didn't want to be cooking til 9) so I fried them in olive oil. God that is messy. I'm so going the boil route next time.
Thank you!!
