Has there been increased security at your DC's school?
Since the events at Newtown, has anyone noticed any differences in your DC school?
In the past few days there have been a lot of changes at DD's school and while I am happy with the changes it is also unsettling. I hope it is just precautionary and there haven't been any threats (I overheard a snippet of a conversation with the principal that concerns me but again it was just a snippet so it could mean anything)

Yes... Front door is now locked and we need to be buzzed in after we announce why we are there, who we are, our child's name - classroom teacher.

Yes. We have always had all doors locked,but now we are getting surveillance cameras and the PD patrols everyday, twice a day in and out of the school. This goes through out our entire county. Not to mention we have tons of parents always around.

I have not noticed anything different at our school, but they always have the doors locked, need to be buzzed in, need id, so not sure what more they could be doing.

The doors are locked more now and they have an extra security guard at all the schools.

Has there been increased security at your DC's school?
We have an extra school safety officer. Doors were always locked except the front door which when opened leads right to the security desk.

Not that much that I have noticed. A security guard at the front doors. But we had a small incident a few months ago and they did a lot to increase security as to who enters the building back then.

Yes, the doors have always been locked. You have to go to the front and be buzzed in, and show ID.
There are signs on the doors now too,saying to either leave the teacher a note or cal pl,for an appt.
A notice was sent home too saying they were aware of what happened in ct and that changes were coming.

We have a security guard at the front door that watches everything. He's more like secret service with his earpiece and hands folded behind his back. Our door were always locked and we has to be buzzed in.
