Talk me off the ledge

Had a mammo Sunday at zwanger. Usually I get a letter about a week or two later saying all is clear. They left a message for me today asking for me to call back. Why they call my home number is beyond me but they did.

During the mammo she did it so quickly and barely squishing if you now what I mean. I've had much more thorough mammos. I'm probably prei-menopausal right now and I know my breasts could change. I'm thinking they want more views.

7 Years ago I had a biospy and all was ok.

I'm really scared. I wasn't before but I am now.

I hope it's just that they need better views. I wasn't too sure this tech did a thorough job.

More color. It was the main office that left me a message. Patient relations in Lindenhurst. Also I didn't have my insurance card with me at the time. I'm hoping this is an administrative call. Fingers crossed.

Either way I'm calling my gyn for an appt. I'm due anyway. .

Don't be scared - it's probably nothing.
like you said, the tech did a half-assed job and most likely the images didn't come out clear.
I got squished to death this year, thought I was going to pop. As much as it hurts, I know the tech was being thorough, especially when she pulled half my armpit onto the machine.

Found out they want more views. I made the mistake of not getting the sono. I got my script from my regular doc who overseas everything for me but should have gotten it from my gyn. I spoke to her office this am and they said they would have prescribed the sono also. My bad.

Bottom line is calcifications. Common and probably nothing. I had this before and went through biopsy and the whole 9 yards but was benign. I may opt for 3D mammo since it gives the best views. It may also prevent biopsy.

I have calls into both doctors and I go on Jan 25th.

I bet if I got the ultrasound they would have compared both and I would have been fine. Well at least I went..just caused myself more anxiety than I needed.

I also told them never to leave a message on my home phone and to always use my cell.

Not much sleep last night.

I'm sorry you're going through that. It's scary. it sounds like it's most likely nothing out of the ordinary though

It's very common. I'm kicking myself for not getting the ultrasound.

It's all soooo nerve wracking. But even with a sono, they'd still want more views. I always expect some sort of issue with views when I go now, it seems to be the norm. You'll go on the 25th and get the 'all's good.'

Moved everything up. I am going to another Zwanger office on Jan 18th. I have an appt with the breast doc on Jan 22 just to get checked out anyway. Since I had this a few years ago and it ended up with a biopsy I think it's an ok idea to get a surgeon's hands on me so to speak. I ended up having surgery then but I'm hopeful I won't have any other issues this time.

I'm not that freaked out anymore but I need to put this behind me and not obsess about it any more.

More info. Spoke to my gyn yesterday (finally). She said they grade the reports and mine is a zero which is incomplete. I told her how I thought the tech did a rush job and was not as thorough and she said well it could be why.

So even though they see something they don't have an accurate mammo.

Not going back to Zwanger again.

Update:

Went to the breast doc after more views on the mammo. Then went for a sono and ultimately a biopsy

Will know Thurs or Fri.

Easier said than done, but try to keep your mind occupied until then. Wine always helps too ;)

Trying. Radiologist told me that she thinks it will be fine. So did the breast doc.

I now have a boo boo.

I met a friend in the doc's office who unfortunately did not get a good report. She had the same thing I did. It really set me off but I know not everyone is the same.
