**update***Ok..so I need you guys to talk me off the ledge....
I just dropped off DD at MIL's for the first time for a "trial". MIL was really great about it and listened to all my "instructions" but I am having a freaking heart attack. I am home (they live 5 minutes away) and Im going to take a shower, get ready and straighten up a bit, then go get her.
I am doing better than I thought I would but MAN DOES THIS S*CK.
My heart is racing and I want to run right back there so bad!!!!! I was not like this when I left her with my mom......AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
****UPDATE****
ugh ugh ugh ugh!!!! SO I get there to pick her up (she was there about 2.5 hours) and I hear her crying from the frekkin driveway. I go in and she is so sad and upset and it took me about 15 minutes to calm her down. MIL said she pretty much cried the entire time, except that she got her to sleep for about an hour by rocking her in her carseat. I have been so upset all day. I don't know what I am going to do. I only have 2.5 weeks of maternoity leave left and I dont want to waste them by dropping her off to cry for 3 hours at a time with MIL.
I feel like the worst mom ever.

I feel the same way. My SIL watches Jake one day a week, on Fridays. This Friday will be the 1st time he is with her as this is my 1st week back at work. Anyway, I am freaking out about leaving the baby with her, even though she is a great mom and the baby's godmother. He is with my mom the other 4 days, and I am so relaxed with him there.

listen, I know how you feel, but she raised your DH and you married him right? so how bad of a mom can she be? Sadie will do great with her grandma...it's good for both of you! It does get easier...

deep breaths... I know you have anxiety about this, but with time it will get better. I think it's good to start off small-- and then have her spend the full day. Baby steps...

jen, you know she will be fine.
and as much as i HATE to admit it, DS actually does better with my MIL than my own mom - no idea why, and in my head i kind of dno't like it (because i am jealous of course!) but i know it is good for DS

awww..its your MIL though, so unless you have some past history with reason to believe she wont take good care,im sure its fine.
granted, its not your mom..i'd feel the same way. But im sure your DD will be just fine!!

I totally understand and feel the same way. My baby splits his time at my mom's house and on the other days my MIL comes to my house. I feel so comfortable having him with my family, but it's different with MIL. Good luck. It gets easier.

I completely understand what you're saying. My MIL is an awesome lady and is awesome with DD, but I felt the same way about leaving DD at first. It's perfectly normal to feel this way

Awww, poor baby. Remember DD needs to get used to your MIL too. I was faced with the same thoughts as you when I left my DS for the first time. In fact, the 2nd day he was there, he was inconsolable, I had to leave work early. I got there, and he calmed right down, just wanted mommy. He has been much better ever since, just takes time. I know it is so hard for you to leave her, it still is for me, but it DOES get better!!!

ITA! Also she needs some time with her to get to know her. I could have calmed my kids as much as a freakin giraffe at first. But once I got to know them it was easy. Maybe have her come over while you are home and spend some alone time with the baby-esp when she is ready to eat, lseep etc. so they can get used to each other

Aww. Jen... you're not a bad mommy..
I agree with the Melissa.. maybe have her come to you for a couple of days, or you can stay by your MIL instead of leaving.
