Stretching

I'm a total gym newb. I've only gone twice since I signed up on Monday and I'm dying. I pretty much had to crawl to the gym yesterday by abs and butt were hurting so badly. Chat Icon DH thinks it's because 1. I haven't used those muscles since I've been to gym 5 years ago (which is probably right) and 2. I'm not stretching properly. I've been trying to google some stretching exercises but I haven't found anything good. I find a lot of written instructions which is no good for me. I'm a visual person, I need to SEE it to do it. Any sites or recs would be fantastic! TIA! Chat Icon

What muscles do you need to stretch? Also what exercises are you doing that are making you so sore? How do you decide what to do at the gym - you may be doing too much too soon.

I think it is because you have not worked out in a while. When you get back into working out, it is important to workout different muscles groups everyday and even then there will still be soreness. I remember in high school the first week of track practice was always brutal and I was sore for the entire week. The next week the soreness was gone.

Now, I never stretch and I am very rarely sore.
