Re: question for those with toddler twins..
Mine aren't walking full time yet but I get the same thing from people. The other day I came to the conclusion that they won't just up and walk one day, it'll be gradual (like it's been) and by the time they are both walking full time, I'll know their habits and how to handle it
That's my opinion on it anyways. I may end up being very wrong later lol but I feel I grow with them, not at different speeds - if that makes sense?
Here's to hoping they don't run in different directions!

Re: question for those with toddler twins..
My twins are 16 months and they do run in two different directions when taking them places. I usually can't go many places without my husband or someone with me, because they don't understand they have to stay together. I'm hoping by the summer they will understand better.

This is true...they don't understand that they have to stay close. My twins always ran in two different directions and one was a really fast runner. I would say from 18 months until almost 3 I really couldn't take them to the park. There is a small gated park by my house but that is the only park we could go. We went to Disney when they were 2 and yes I was one of those moms with a leash on ther kid. At the end of the I day I didn't lose my son so I didn't care who judged me for using one of those things.

Re: question for those with toddler twins..
I take them a lot of places alone. The park from 12 months till a out 2 was the toughest but doable. Th biggest issue I had was them not understanding that they were high up on the playground equipment they could fall. So it was nerve wracking. At 2 they are starting to get the safety aspect of that. From early on I as strict with them..if you don't hold my hand you get picked up or you go back in the stroller. It helped. So I guess m answer is yes you can take them to a park alone, depending on the park. A small, gated park without slit of high openings.

Re: question for those with toddler twins..
You have to find parks that are todder twin friendly. Small. Fully gated. Nothing too high that they can fall off of. Go early in the morning when no one else is there.
1 play place that is awesome is Le Play Cafe. That is the only play place I could go to by myself w/ the kids. It's just 1 room, fully enclosed and nothing dangerous. You just stand in the middle and they can run wherever they want.
FWIW, my twins are going to be 3 in May and they still run in opposite directions. It's harder now because they are even faster and they think it's fun to mess w/ me.

Re: question for those with toddler twins..
My twins are going to be 3 in March and I don't think I could attempt a park trip by myself at this age. They still run in different directions and while it is getting a little easier and they are starting to listen more I think it would stress me out too much! DH definitely needs to still come with us to play. (and I have yet to bring them both to the Dr. by myself as well!)

Re: question for those with toddler twins..
I take 3 kids to the park. I agree with the small/gated. But sometimes we go to bigger parks and I just have to keep reminding them to stay together. Travis is my runner so I will tell the other two, "go follow travis!'

Re: question for those with toddler twins..
My boys are 17 months, one RUNS (not walks fast) everywhere now, the other one walks fast And I am 8 months pregnant, not a great combo We have been staying in a lot lately. Small, gated places. Parties and family gatherings arent too easy either if the place is not baby proofed. It IS super hard sometimes. I am trying to enforce, hold mommys hand!!! I am hoping this is a short phase bc i hate depending on anyone else to help out.

Honestly, it really depends on the babies. If you have more shy, gentle babies it could be done in the right park. If they are rowdy, well then you will probably need help.
My girls are always off in different directions one is definitely an independent spirit. I could never go to a park alone. I have never been to a park with suitable sized equipment, most of them are for 3 and up. My girls are crazy climbers and have no sense of how high up they are.

Re: question for those with toddler twins..
I would not do it for a long time but now that they're a little over 2 I do. They aren't so "shaky " on their feet so I feel safer letting them run around. Enclosed parks do help though!
