Here we go again with Developmental Pediatrician Recommendation.
It was suggested that I get DS re-evaluated before the classifications change. His school recommended Dr. Adesman. Next appointment is end of June. I will wait for this appointment if he is good. If he is another Dr. Scherzer I will spare my wallet, time and emotional stability and not bother.
If there is another recommendation of an excellent doctor....who takes insurance....fire away!

I heard he was very good. I have never met him. I saw Sr. Elice in Woodbury last week and he was one if the nicest doctors I have ever met. He was awesome.

Here we go again with Developmental Pediatrician Recommendation.
I am going to go to Marci Silverman in Babylon. She is hard to get an appt with though. She is usually 2 or 3 months out.

I have an appointment with her next month as well. I've heard mixed reviews, but it took a long time to get the appointment so I want to see what she had to say.

I was not too fond of her. She didn't seem "warm" or caring to me. But she hit the nail on the head with DD's diagnosis. When nobody else had a name for what DD has, she put a name to it...actually said, "I think this is Angelman Syndrome. When you get the blood test result, we'll know more, but this is what I think it is." And she was right. Neurologist had already ordered DNA test to diagnose, but since I had already waited 4 months for the appointment, I went. So, she obviously knows what she's doing.

Silverman is the worst. I wouldn't waste my time with her. Do a search, you will find many negative experiences with her.

His school recommended her as well as Adesman but I already had marked her off my list from past experiences on here

Re: Here we go again with Developmental Pediatrician Recommendation.
We saw Dr. Silverman last summer also. DS was almost 4. LIJ does not accept my insurance so I decided to start at this office, and if need be, pay out of pocket once he hits elem school.
I brought all of his recent IEP reports. She read over all of them, and made comments. She observed his behavior. She sent us home with two behavioral surveys, and we had a follow up appt with the Nurse Practioner a few weeks later. Based on the reports, no diagnosis was issued, and he is already receiving the services he needs.
We have another appt in two months. I will be again bringing recent documents from his school, with the hopes of getting a diagnosis for Kindergarten placement.

I wasn't a fan of Silverman at all. Wasted my time. She did nothing. The school psychologist gave my DS his diagnosis during the transition from E.I. to Pre-K.

Re: Here we go again with Developmental Pediatrician Recommendation.
We go to Dr. Huang at LIJ (we go to the Commack office) I really like her. She gets everything about DS.
Initially it took 2 months for his appointments (2 one hour sessions). Now with follow ups I can call and get in with in a month.
