What kind of oil isn't so fruity?
I've always bought EVOO and lately it's just too fruity for me. I always have vegetable or canola oil on hand for certain recipes, but are walnut/grapeseed/sunflower oil any good? Or just a less fruity EVOO?

maybe go to fairway and try different olive oils. they have them set up for tasting. maybe you just need a new kind.

EVOO is kind of like white wine to me... there are differences and its quality is based on preference.
to me, if wine tastes fruity, it's BAD and if it is a good wine it is dry and crisp.
the same applies to evoo. different kinds different preferences. I agree that if it is fruity, it is bad. to me good evoo should taste more smooth, if any flavoring, towards an olive or almond taste.
i think you just need to change brands of evoo. my favorite is omaggio. they sell it at sams club
