Feeding/Sleeping at the same time
How did you get both twins to eat and sleep at the same time. I want to get them into a habit! DH works nights so it would just be with no backup to help! Just wondering what you did.
Thanks!

Re: Feeding/Sleeping at the same time
Our amazing NICU nurses got my girls on an every 3 hr schedule and we stuck RELIGIOUSLY to that until 2 months when we switched to every 4 hrs.

Ditto .... except we kept at it for longer! lol
They also shared a crib at first so they would wake each other ... and now they share a room, same thing.

Feeding/Sleeping at the same time
In the hospital, they brought my twins to be with me 24/7, so we got them into a routine there, before we even got home. They had to eat every2 hours anyway, so whether or not they wanted to be awake or sleep, they had to be up. This changed to every 3 once we were home, and it just becomes a continuous 24 hour clock for awhile. Theitr feeding schedule depends on birth weight, too and if they need to gain you will have to keep feeding. So wake to feed if they need, and they'll learn to sleep at the same time.

Feeding/Sleeping at the same time
I generalized a bit, and wanted to clarify something. if you have one twin who is larger or needs special attention, this all could go out the window. also,a schedule isn't for everyone. There are people who EBF and feed on demand as needed, and a schedule doesn't necessarily apply at the beginning. Babies carve out their own little schedule anyhow. There is always a pattern that emerges....

Re: Feeding/Sleeping at the same time
Twin 2 was in nicu and ate every 3 hrs and 2 was easy going so I just molder her to 1s schedule. There were times that 2 would spit up a bottle and want more sooner and mess it up but we always got them back on. Then when twin 2 started falling asleep during her midnight feeding we stopped waking her and twin 2 luckily followed a few days later. I still wake them to eat during the day every 4 hrs because they are tired and want to go to sleep for the day at 9:30 so I need to keep them on a schedule.
