Thoughts on interviewers who show up late?
I know as interviewees, we need to show up early.
What are your thoughts on interviewers who show up late?
I know its one thing if its a line of interviews, and things are running behind schedule, or a busy time of day.
But, when you schedule an interview with the interviewer first thing in the morning, and the time comes and goes and the interviewer isn't even at work yet? Or calling the receptionist explaining that he or she is running late?
I understand these are hard times and when you interview you can't be too nitpicky, but I am not sure how I feel about an organization that doesn't show up on time to interview someone.....
Thoughts?

It's beyond rude, and I don't find it to be professional.

Re: Thoughts on interviewers who show up late?
I just went through this with the HR dept and I took it as a bad sign.
I ended up getting the job though and I am not basing how the job is going to be on how the people are in HR.
Where I am currently I know they have been known to be late and I suspect it's because they get caught up in 123456789 other things.

Thoughts on interviewers who show up late?
I ended up having this happen to me on a second interview, I sat for 45 minutes waiting, and I had told the woman the latest I could do was 9:30 since I had an appointment at 11am. I was late for my appointment, needless to say. I was beyond peeved and it makes me wonder about the company.

I once sat and waited for over 2 hours for an interview. This was for a position in he HR Dept. I only stayed because I was out of work and my former boss knew the head of HR, so I didn't want to look bad if I left.... Didn't get the job. Saw it advertised again about 2 months later, so I'm thinking it was a good thing I didn't get it!

I think it depends on the size of the company and if the departments are separate.
If the interviewer is your future boss, i'd be upset/concerned. If it's a huge company and it's an HR department or something, and you wouldn't be working with those people in the future, i wouldn't be nearly as bothered (though of course it's rude).
