Just want to say that the school calendar this year s*cks!
Kids who they're afraid will regress too much get summer services, right? So then why is there a 4 week break between when summer ends and fall begins?? In my district, summer session ends 8/9 and the new school year doesn't begin until 9/9! So much for not regressing...that's 4 weeks without school/services!

Oh wow! My DD goes from I think 7/7 until 8/15 (something like that).
I'm not sure of her calendar for Sept, but, I know my DS (going into 1st) goes ONE day (the wed after Labor Day) then has off until Monday!

Just want to say that the school calendar this year s*cks!
I hear you. The calendar is crazy this year. Too much time off and the people that created the extended year calendar should have take the late start date into consideration when picking the weeks. Next year christmas break is two full weeks as well. I'm trying to fill up the 4 weeks but most camps end early too. Blah!

Ugh, that is a sucky summer calendar! Most districts seem to be doing 7/8 - 8/16. 4 weeks is a long time to go without the structure of school/services....

Yes...I just looked at the calendar also and can't believe that it is a month off. I didnt realize that there was such a gap...

you do have a bad calendar. my district is 7/8 - 8/16 we have 2 weeks and a few days

Can you request a meeting before end of school year to get home services approved during breaks?
We had this written into our IEP this year for this very reason. DS has SO much regression during any break longer than 4 days. We now get his school therapists to come to our home during the breaks. 9 hours per week. It's better than nothing!

Usually it's a bit 3.5 weeks. But this year it's so long.

 so unfortunate I have two weeks until the new school year and I plan on running his new and mastered programs myself 2 x a day. Have you looked into hiring summer therapists via insurance? I was surprised to learn that many company's are now covering therapy for on spectrum diagnosis not sure if your dd is but would look into some local agencies to come over if they can
