so the stomach virus i was complaining about was a ruptured ovarian cyst
i ended up in the ER after visiting my primary doc because my symptoms were so like appendicitis and it runs in my family. 11 hours later at 4 this morning i got my ct scan results back and found out it was this.
i have a gyn appt on monday for a sonogram. since it ruptured, does it just go away on its own now? is there any chance of surgery for anything?
TIA if you have answers

I've been there! The doctors also thought my appendix ruptured. Worst pain on earth!
As for follow up, you just pass it out of your system like you would a period. I never had to have surgery, I was placed on heavy duty BC pills to stop them & it worked!
Feel better!

Sorry you are dealing with this.
In my experience, it all passed on it's own. I thought I was dying, pain was so bad but went away quickly.
I'm pretty sure if it ruptures on it's own, you shouldn't need surgery. I thought, could be wrong, that surgery was to remove a really large cyst to prevent it from rupturing.
For me, it was extreme pain when it happenend and then just cramping I think. BC pills helped and I was on them for years. I went off the pill for a year and had no problems, no cysts. I then had my beautiful DD with no complications, so there were no long term problems for me.
Hang in there.

Thank you for your responses!! I'm feeling a little better and I'm glad to hear that surgery is unlikely.
