ruptured ovarian cyst

Has anyone had this? What happened and what was the treatment?

I've been in pain since Fri night. DH wanted to call an ambulance because I was in so much pain. (it felt like late stage very active labor). Eased up by morning, but nowhere near gone. Still in pretty bad pain and very very tender to the touch. I called the dr emergency nummber yesterday and am going today for an ultrasound, but he said it sounds like a ruptured ovarian cyst. I'm on mirena, and cysts can apparently be a side effect. I'm just really hoping I don't need immediate treatment or anything because today is my daughter's second birthday. I know someone who had one of these and was hospitalized for it for a few days.

I had this...It was VERY painful. There was no treatment just Motrin for pain. After the cyst ruptures there is often free fluid that causes irritation. I camped out on the couch with Motrin and a heating pad and was back to normal in a couple of days. Good Luck!

I had this a few years back and thought it was my appendix so I went to my PCP who then sent me to the emergency room. It was the worst pain of my entire life! They ran a bunch of tests, hooked me up to an IV and then that was it. No further treatment or follow up.
