Need Menu Help PF Chang's

havent been on in super long!
So finally found a place that fits within our budget and all our needs for our sons 1st birthday/baby blessing celebration and really need help determining how much food is enough. ? I expect about 40 people- most like only 1 or 2 kids (which we will deal with on a per case basis if they wont eat what is provided).

So my main question is, is this enough for 40? I have actually never eaten at PF chang's (westbury) so dont know how large the portions are which is making it more difficult.

everything is served FAMily Style. everyone shares


Apps- 15 plates of apps total
(5) Battered Crispy Green Beans or Edamame
(5) Spare Ribs
(5) Calamari

Sides-14 sides total (will be served at the same time as entrees)
(4) Stir Fried Eggplant
(6) Vegetable Fried Rice
(4) Garlic Noodles

Entrees- 15 entrees total
(5) Shanghai Shrimp w/ garlic sauce
(5) Sweet and Sour Pour
(5) Mandarin Chicken

Soft drinks, juices, coffee, tea

Celebration cake

(we will be able to add once we are there if we run low but i would like to have our costs and amounts set as close to possible before hand if it could be helped)

i could be way off here- dont laugh if this is too little lol!

I think you may be ok with apps, though I would maybe add some spring or egg rolls cut in half. Or maybe even big bowls of wonton soup. I would probably offer another vegetable side dish as well. And I don't think you have enough entrees. I think Mongolian beef would be good to add in. I would probably offer 20 entrees. My thinking is each order would feed 2 people. Right now I feel like you only have enough food to feed 25-30 people.

From what I remember, the portions there aren't huge. I would think you might need something more.

I don't know the restaurant that well, but could you ask them for guidance in determining amounts of food needed for 40 adults? If they do private parties often, maybe they have a rule of thumb that they can recommend?

I would always rather have more food than less at a party, so I would probably add another entrée, too, and maybe another appetizer, or, if you expect any one entrée to be more popular with your crowd, maybe just order more of that one (so you have more food even if you don't add another menu option).

The portions are average. They should provide you with recommendations for how much to order since they know exactly what comes in each order. I would also talk to them about food preparation--many of the dishes are on the salty side.

You definitely need more food. DH and I polish off the spare rib appetizer. The entrees are not huge portions at all. At minimum, you should have 20 entree plates.
