Breastfeeding Moms...
Any advice on losing your baby weight? I am just about 8 weeks PP and need to get this weight gone! I lost about half of it, but now I am stuck. I have started exercising but am not seeing any results yet. (I just started last week but am very impatient!) Any advice? Thanks!

Re: Breastfeeding Moms...
Oh it is so much about diet in the beginning when you are BFing. You really do have to limit your intensity to not effect your milk supply. It's super frustrating, and the whole "you lose weight if you BF" thing really isn't true. Your body wants to hold on the excess fat while you are breastfeeding, so it's actually harder to lose weight when you don't have an excess to lose.
It's a super slow process. After 3 days, I only had 7 pounds to lose and no matter what I tried, I couldn't lose it until I stopped breastfeeding. I ate totally cleaned, worked out moderate intensity (lifting and cardio) 6x a week - and I just couldn't drop a single pound.
I also found that I lost a TON of muscle while pregnant, so my metabolism was like shut down, haha, which didn't help things at all. I was so used to how my body worked, and after baby it was totally different.
Hang in there, it'll happen. Don't feel like you are failing because the scale won't budge just yet. You're body is still out of whack and there are so many hormones running through it.

Breastfeeding Moms...
from all of what i've read, and what i went through...
you lose weight faster AT FIRST because you're feeding the baby
BUT
your body will hold on the about 10-20 lbs until you're done breast feeding. your body will hold on to that to help you continue to keep a supply of breast milk for the baby.
all i can say is to eat as healthy as you can. this will set you up to be in the perfect place for it to fall off your body as soon as you stop breast feeding
