New Car Opinions
So I am happily expecting twins in March and have a 2 year old now. Right now I drive an SUV, which is going to be WAY too tight to fit a car seat and 2 infant carriers. I'd prefer to get some sort of truck, but am not totally shooting down the idea of the mini van. These are the cars I want to look at: GMC Acadia Infinity EX37 Chrysler Town and Country Honda Odyssey
Any other suggestions or feedback on these? We are going to start to look sooner than later since DH's lease is up on his car anyway.

Re: New Car Opinions
We had a Pilot and switched to a Odyssey when I found out I was expecting twins. Our Pilot was having problems and we needed a new car ASAP. Driving a mini van was my worst nightmare but it is working out really well. Getting to the third row in the Pilot was impossible. The sliding auto doors of the Odyssey have been so helpful. Having a variety of seat set ups has also been really necessary. For the first few weeks we had the twins and my three year old in the middle row. Well it turns out that this was not the best set up for us and I have moved my three year old to the back so an adult can sit with the twins. The price tag of the Odyssey still bothers me but it really is a family friendly car.
ETA: My friend with three kids also has the Odyssey and had to have a Town and Country rental and said it was not as convenient and car seat friendly as the Odyssey.

New Car Opinions
we bought the explorer - the new version in 2011 - i like having the bench in 2nd row - we fit 3 seats across infant seat, britax boulevard (FFing), infant seat
when we have extra people- like inlaws, i moved the twins over and put my older son back with me
when they switched to convertible - i would put them in the back when we had guests int he car - RFIng and put them in from the back
wee fit in our 2nd row on a daily basis - diono (rfing), britax boulevard (ffing) and diono (rfing)
we rented a mini van when my older son was 2.5 and i did not like having him where i could hand him things- he helps me pass things to his brothers - i am really happy having the bench and would have hated having captain's seats
i rarely have more than 5 people in the car and the few times we do i adjust the seats but it is rare so the bench is easier and then i have a bigger trunk
i love that the suv does not drive big- i had a smaller suv before and it drives very similar to the ford edge - it is car based but great in snow- it has technology out of land rovers
overall we have been very happy with the car

I went to look at the Acadia. Definitely not going to work. I was killing myself to get into the third row and that was with no other car seats in the captain seats. So onto the mini vans!

Re: New Car Opinions
also had a 2 yr old and twins and for the Odyssey. It has been PERFECT (kids are now 5 and the twins 3) I used triple strollers too, and was able to fit them in the truck. That was the major reason why I didn't go for a 3 row SUV.
