What are your IPAD rules/limits?
I don't want my DC to become addicted to having the ipad constantly playing. Do you limit IPAD use and if so what are your rules/limits?

Re: What are your IPAD rules/limits?
In Summer, rules are sort of out the door! But they are out of house in camp mon-fri from 8 to 5 so I don't have limits from when we come home til 830 bedtime. However they don't use them while eating dinner, doing a few chores/cleanup and showers obviously. So 2 hours max. Weekends we are usually out half the day doing something but the rest of the time (again as long as responsibilities are met) they can use them or watch TV.
School days mon-thurs so far my rule has been no screen time at all. But my DD is 10 and she communicates with friends through email now so I may let her go on for a few min each night this year.

What are your IPAD rules/limits?
Only on the weekend after all homework and chores have been completed. And we have a two hour maximum limit for all electronics (video games, computer, leap pad).

My kids are 9 and almost 5. They are addicted Zombies with electronics. I have limited to weekends only. They are not happy about it, but they'll live. My DD said that I am "ruining her life".

What are your IPAD rules/limits?
A few times DH let my DS watch movies on his iPad, one was for the car ride back from MD.
Other than that, he only uses it at my sister's house when my niece lets him and his little cousin play with hers.
Although I am a computer person and would love to expose him to technology, Im scared of him getting addicted to that and video games. Horrible experience of video games with my Stepson, so Im pretty much traumatized and don't want to make the same mistake that my DH made.

Re: What are your IPAD rules/limits?
My kids are 6 1/2 and they don't have electronic devices for them for the "addiction" reasons.
I wanted them to have a solid habit of reading paper books, writing, creative play and playing outside before introducing the technology to them.
That being said, with all of the new Common Core assessments in schools and the testing conducted in tablets, I am learning that they need to get up to speed on their keyboarding skills We will be getting one shortly but they will both share one, they will have strict time limits and it will most likely just be used on weekends.

We have no limits on her Ipad use. I think she has a good balance as she does alot of imaginary play, writes in her journal every day and is the the process of writing what she calls "her life story - a full 6 years" lol. She does not have any typical games on her ipad though. They are mostly educational, teaching math and reading/spelling skills and her movies and shows she likes.
They use Ipads, touchscreens at school and I think it's important for her to know the ins and outs of the device.

Re: What are your IPAD rules/limits?
Now that they are back in school, during the week iPad/Kindle is only allowed after homework and reading is done. They also are limited to 30-45 mins each day. They are free to use them on the weekends and in the car.

What are your IPAD rules/limits?
I took it away from my girls. They have Nabi's. They were on them way too much. Now it is for car rides or rainy days. But I limit it. They become zombies with them.

Long car rides only, and the rare rainy day. We have plenty of toys, and I feel that creative play is way more important at this age.
