puggle needs good home

First off no flames please...this is for his best interest

Max will be 4 in October. He is a sweet and loyal puggle, but has bad separation anxiety. He cries the entire time we are gone and our neighbors and landlord are not having it. We have moved 3 times in the past three years and we have a toddler and can't move again. Max needs an owner who is home more then we are, we are gone a minimum of 10 hours and we go out alot on weekends.

He is housebroken and eats dry food. He is a bit overweight, but thats because he steals food, lol

Max is great with kids

please fm me for more info or pics

What a heartbreaking situation. Chat Icon Is there anything else you can try? His separation anxiety is probably going to get even worse when he goes to a new home. Have you talked with your vet about different solutions?

A number of excellent rescue groups are on Long Island, so maybe you can contact some of them. FurBabies in East Rockaway is a wonderful resource. These groups can often post for you on Facebook.

puggle needs good home

there is a woman on LI that apparently trained with Cesear Milan, my friend used her for her dog Cane and said she was great. Maybe try it before you give him up?

If you all can fund these extra trainings ( as if I hadn't done it all already) then let me know

If you are going to be snarky about advice, then maybe you shouldn't ask for help on a public forum.

1. How on earth would we know what you had done already? Chat Icon
2. I don't really see what is wrong with suggesting training.
3. When you take in a pet, it's not just an emotional commitment for life; it's a financial one too. Maybe you can set up a page on a crowdfunding site? Sorry if this suggestion is offensive to you as my previous one appeared to be so.

ITA. Clearly she just doesnt want the dog or she wouldn't be so quick to shoot down alternatives to getting rid of him and the nasty and rude response wasn't called for. Don't write "no flames please" and then act like a fool. Its unfortunate for Max that the owners that chose him dont have time to put into him and could so easily hand him away after 4 years. However, it seems like that would probably be in his best interest anyway.

I would suggest (please dont take offense to this because I am SURE you already have done so) but look into a rescue group for puggles. Unfortunately there are so many homeless pets, it's not that easy to just pawn off a 4 year old dog that you lost interest in.

ITA with both of these posters. A pet is a member of the family, we would hope you have exhausted all other avenues before you just dump him. We also have no idea what you may or may not have tried.

Re: puggle needs good home

I will say on this topic, please try a rescue for pugs (although not sure they will take on a puggle). Oddly everyone else on here said things i normally say so I luckily don't have to say much else. Poor baby.Chat Icon Hopefully you can find owners for him who are more able to give him what he needs since you feel you cannot. My male dog suffers from anxiety when he is left alone, so we try our best to have one of us home as much as possible. So reading this breaks my heart.
