Those with OCD please come in...

I have been dealing with horrible OCD/Anxiety ever since my DD was born. First it was the intrusive thoughts regarding the baby. Now its obsessions and fears that I have something else wrong with me, like some other severe mental illness. I can't stop worrying about it. I went to two drs and they both told me its just OCD and GAD(generalized anxiety disorder). I just started taking Zoloft and Clonopin. I guess maybe I'm looking for some sort of support or reassurance. Has any ever dealt with this before, and has Zoloft corrected the issue? I'm also scared of the side effects but my drs both say that the benefits outweigh the risks of the medicine. Thanks!

I have the same issues. IMHO you don't really need the klonopin once the Zoloft kicks in.

If you aren't in therapy- I would start going- it helps Chat Icon

I take Lexapro and I'm myself again. Without it I'm a lunatic.

Hope you feel better soon! Feel free to FM me if you want to talk Chat Icon Chat Icon

I had this type of PPD as well. I took Effexor and I felt better very quickly.

Please feel free to FM me- I've been through it three times. You WILL feel better. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thank you both for your responses. I have been in therapy since she has been born. I'm going to start cognitive behavioral therapy also.

I have OCD, anxiety and depression. I take Prozac (an SSRI like Zoloft) for the OCD and anxiety. You'll feel better in about a month on the medsChat Icon

I also developed really bad anxiety after my daughter was born and am now taking zoloft. It has helped tremendously! It took about a month or so for me to start really feeling the effects, so stick with it!

Bad anxiety here and started taking Lexapro..much better. I used to take Zoloft and it worked too. Once it reaches a therapuetic level you will feel yourself again.
