Getting older :( skin care.........
What product do you rave about for skin care. Please share anything from cleansing to eye cream. Whenever I really spend the time in the mirror I'm just like holy cow. My problem area are dark circles under the eye and a little bit of wrinkles around the eyes. I never cared about the expensive stuff but willing to use whatever if it works!!
Please share what works for you!

I just bought yesterday L'Oreal Youth Code Day/Night Cream.
I can't say how it works yet- since I just put it on last night and this morning- but it got some great reviews so we shall see.

I hope you get answers, b/c I'm looking for the same! The thing I'd LOVE to find is some sort of foundation that does NOT sink into the little lines between my eyebrows & on my forehead.

I've always used Nivea original moisture lotion as a moisturizer. I sometimes use Neutrogena Sesame Oil instead.
Find that they do not irritate my skin.
For dark spots (when I remember) I use the Clinique Dark Spot Corrector.
For cleansing, I use either Basis Vitamin Bar or Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser, pat dry then moisturize my face AND neck.
Every couple of days run a washcloth over my face to exfoliate.
That's about it - no special moisturizers or under eye creams.
I am 47 and just starting to notice some eye crinkles.
I have my mom to thank, she had great skin and hardly any wrinkles.
eta : I use Neutrogena foundation. I like the way it goes on and feels on my face. I also like the price

I use Neutrogena Visibly Bright facial cleanser, Korres Wild Rose brightening serum, moisturizer and eye cream.
I love Korres products. My skin looks healthy and doesn't feel dry or oily.

Try using this on those lines BEFORE foundation.
It seems to help- somewhat.

Ooo. I'll definitely pick that up. I feel like I look pretty young except for these pesky tiny lines between my eyes from years of inadvertantly furrowing my brow.

I went to my Dermatologist complaining about getting older, and how much I hated the dark spots showing up on my face. She put me on a prescription face cream called Retin-A. It's actually used for acne, but it has anti-aging properties and is supposed to lighten the dark spots. I've been using it for 3 months now, and I haven't noticed the dark spots lightening yet....BUT, it has definitely made a big difference in the smoothness of my skin. It looks so even and bright, and there's not a pore in sight.
Just something else to consider....

I don't know how my skin appears to others or if I looked "old" or not  , but I use:
*Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash (gentle and non drying)
*Alpha Hydrox Glycolic Swipes or Gel (14%) - at night (when not pregnant, I'll alternate it with a Treninoin cream) or during the day if I'm not wearing make up.
*Alpha Hydrox Oil Free Glycolic Gel (10%) - I use this during the day under my moisturizer & makeup.
My skin is currently very dry from being pregnant, so I've been using:
*St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer (over the Alpha Hydrox gel)
*Koh Gen Do Oriental Plants Emollient Cream - I use this over the St. Ives...a little goes a long way (which is good considering the cost of the product. )
I also loofah my face daily, whether it be with a loofah sponge or the Clarisonic.
If I'm not wearing full makeup (liquid foundation), I try and put an SPF 30+ on my face, but I find I'm having reactions to suncreen as I get older and I have yet to find a product that I'm very happy with.
I'm a big advocate of the Alpha Hydrox line (available at Ulta.) I've been using their products since college (almost 20 years since I stumbled upon the line.)

Try using this on those lines BEFORE foundation.

I don't use anything anti aging per se but I found if I put Rimmel foundation on lightly with a brush in a circular motion, let it dry for a few seconds and then put another layer on just on the problem areas, it smooths it out better.
I know this isn't a typical reply, but I've found my skin has improved since I started eating better. I was watching a show about how to be healthier and they noted this, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and even 1-3 hours of moderate exercise per week can make a huge difference. With winter coming, I'm trying to make a difference from the inside out first and then applying things like gentle cleansers and creams after.

If I wasn't having the issue with eyebrow waxing, then I would probably stay on it forever because my skin has been so great!

My Derm said my insurance probably wouldn't cover it unless she marked me as needing it for acne (which I don't have)...and even with that, she informed me that many insurances will only cover it up to a certain age. He actually recommended a new treatment for me - 'blue light' instead of the Retin A to help get rid of sun damage spots and to help wtih aging. I'm going to try it on my chest before i do anything on my face..

Hydroquinone is pretty much the best skin lightening stuff EVER! I use it with Retin A and it got rid of the melasma in about 6 weeks. I make sure to wear a barrier sunscreen everyday too to keep the spots from returning.
Are you using moisturizer with the Retina A? I use coconut oil and it helps with the drying.
Having your brows threaded or plucked is better for your skin in the long run. Less pulling on delicate skin!

I am using a moisturizer everyday but I still have some dryness...especially on my chin and under my nose (random haha). Maybe I should give coconut oil a try.

I started using Murad products along with a hyaluronic acid serum by someone else and I have seen a big difference in my skin. I've also been getting Hydrafacials every 6-8 weeks.
