doing research before buying appliances
we need all new kitchen appliances and dont even know where to begin
is there a site to help research/read reviews on specific brands?
are certain brands known for certain items?
we arent looking to break the bank (so subzero and viking are out of the running) but how do you decide between LG, GE, samsung, kitchenaid, maytag etc

Re: doing research before buying appliances
We signed up for Consumer Reports when we were doing work on our house and it came in handy a lot. I have to give DH credit, he really did the bulk of the research. He wanted all appliances to be the same brand, so he researched and found the highest scoring appliances that were all the same brand. For us, this was a year ago, LG came out on top. So far we are happy with everything except that I kind of hate the dishwasher. But gas range, double wall oven, french door fridge, and micro with hood are all great. We got them at PC Richard. GL!

all I can say is stay away from Frigidaire. we bought a full set of them and so far have had trouble with every one except the dryer, going on 2 years. so 5/6 ain't good.

Stay away from GE. We've always had the best luck of luck with frigidaire. Had a GE fridge they actually had to give me a store credit at PC Richards because it was over 10 service calls for repair in 10 years. At our old house we had frigidaire and that's what we met with when we had to replace the crappy GE's lol

cancel after you decide on which appliance you want. We purchase cr when we bought our home and canceled right after we bought everything we needed.

You can get consumer reports from the library for FREE. We refer to it for most purchases.
