Questions about buying all new kitchen appliances
I've never had to buy kitchen appliances before, so this is all new to me. I figured it's best to buy them all at the same time because I'm assuming they discount the packages. We need a new fridge, gas cooktop, electric wall oven, dishwasher and microwave that goes over cooktop. I'm pretty sure we are going with SS or Clean Steel
1) What's the best place to get good deals on packages (I'm not in LI)? I can only think of PC Richards and Best Buy
2) What is a good brand to buy? I always have GE's - what are other middle of the road brands for SS appliances. I'm more concerned with quality than price (but I know I can't afford the top of the line.)
3) What brand do you have? Do you love it / hate it? Why?
ANy advice / reviews would be very much appreciated!!!
Thanks :)

Re: Questions about buying all new kitchen appliances
I know my boss got an excellent deal at Sears on her appliances when she had her kitchen redone.
I forget what it was but it was something like buy 2 get 1 free or something insane like that. I don't think it had to be Kenmore products either.
My Uncle always raves about PC Richards.
We have had a GE Profile fridge and Thermador Electric/convection Wall Oven and Thermador Gas Range for the past 5 years. I am extremely happy with all 3.
I would NOT recommend Jen-Air for dishwashers. They are loud and hard to repair.

Re: Questions about buying all new kitchen appliances
we looked at Sears for our appliances then ended up buying from Appliance by Phone.
Here is the website
LINK
It was nice to see the stuff in the store but nicer to save money on the items we purchased

Re: Questions about buying all new kitchen appliances
We bought ours from PC Richard. They were having a sale where you buy the three appliances and you get the over-the-range microwave for free. GE was also offering rebates, as well as LIPA for buying energy star products. We got GE Stainless steel frig, microwave, dishwasher and oven for under $2k. I'm very happy with them all and was also very happy with PC Richard.

Re: Questions about buying all new kitchen appliances
I would be hesitant to buy from Sears at this point because they are expected to go under in a year or so. If you have a warranty I don't know what will happen. We also had a lousy experience with them when we bought our dishwasher last year so I won't buy from them. I found the service at PC Richards to be very good last monthn when we needed an a/c so I would use them again.
