You ladies HAVE to do this if you haven't already. I got so tired of my bras digging into the side of my boobs that I decide to research how to do a REAL bra fitting... mostly b/c I'm a recluse and wasn't about to go someplace to have a pro measure me. So found this tutorial. Oh my god I have been grossly wearing the wrong size for YEARS. DO it!! You'll be shocked. The bending over part of the measurement is crucial, b/c it takes into account all of your breast tissue - when you measure standing up, it sorta hides out.

I've been wearing a 36B for 8098098 years. I did this and it measured me at a 33DDD. WHAT??? I have small boobs though! So I went to the store and tried on a bunch of 32DD and 34D (it suggests trying out sister sizes if youre an odd band number) and oh my god. 34D fits like a DREAM. No side boob. Less back fat (I'll always have SOME) and I honestly just look thinner. My WHOLE boob is in the cup - I guess before the wire was sorta cutting the armpit-boob area in half. I guess cup size isn't just about the "size" if your boobs, but also about the width of them, which I never even considered before.

GO DO THIS!!!

OK I thought I was doing it all wrong.
when I did the modern method it has me at a 32DD.
The old school way I am like a 36 A/B
I have the smallest boobs ever
The thought of me even looking at a DD cup size is actually ridiculous.
But I see it had you in a DDD too.
So I guess I did it right?
How is that possible?

So they way I understand it is this: A cup size of a 32D is much smaller than a 36D. Also, the larger size gets all the side/armpit boob and the top boob that always spills out. The smaller band size is because the band is supposed to sit lower on your back. I always had it up higher and was a 34. It slipped off my shoulders more and everything got pushed in the wrong direction. I had that porn start pushed together cleavage. Now I have two separate boobs and the clothes show that. It also lifts them up somehow and I have a thinner looking rib cage area.

It really is amazing.

I just measured with modern sizing and have a 33 band size with a 47 inch boob size, which means I am a 32 or 34L? If I do a typical measurement standing up, I get a 43 boob size.

Still confused. Are we adding 4 inches to the band size?

I haven't had a good fitting bra ever. I wonder if this is why?

If you are measuring a 33, I would go to a 34.

I did the measurement bent over and and measured a 32G. My actually measurement is 31.
I went to Nordstroms yesterday to get a fitting and she measured me a DD. I told her I would probably be a DDD (thought maybe I measured wrong) and I ended up going up to G.

So was she adding 4 inches? How did she come up with DD?

I don't know how she got a DD, but I knew I wasn't a DD.

On the chart it shows you what the inches to cup size is. When I measured it, I got 8" difference. That is how I got the G.
There was another associate that was helping someone else and she seemed better. She also measured me with my bra on.

Re: Bra Size

OK so I was in Kohl's this morning and took at look at the bras. The D cups- even in a 32 or 34 looked as big as my head! It was actually comical.
I didn't have time to try anything on there since I was on my way to work but I decided to take a baby step and try a 34 C (I normally wear at 36B).
So going by sister sizing- down a band size up a cup size.
I will try it tonight and see how it fits.

Re: Bra Size

I was in VS- figured let me get measured. I was wearing the wrong size as well for a long time. this is also after 3 kids and post weight loss.

Anyways- im in a 34C and I cant believe how much better it fits.

Nothing embarassing about getting fitted.

Try them on! I thought that there was NO way it would fit me, but it did. LIke, I wasn't exactly busting out of my b-cups, so I had no idea how a D would fit, but I had secret armpit boob that I didnt know about!

Thanks for this, I am very curious about trying on the "modern" size which according to this, a 34DD, would have never guessed.

Re: Bra Size

Any other stores on LI that have a selection of larger cup sizes (other than Nordstroms)? I really need to get the proper size, the more I know, the more uncomfortable I have been.
