Bra Size

You ladies HAVE to do this if you haven't already. I got so tired of my bras digging into the side of my boobs that I decide to research how to do a REAL bra fitting... mostly b/c I'm a recluse and wasn't about to go someplace to have a pro measure me. So found this tutorial. Oh my god I have been grossly wearing the wrong size for YEARS. DO it!! You'll be shocked. The bending over part of the measurement is crucial, b/c it takes into account all of your breast tissue - when you measure standing up, it sorta hides out.

I've been wearing a 36B for 8098098 years. I did this and it measured me at a 33DDD. WHAT??? I have small boobs though! So I went to the store and tried on a bunch of 32DD and 34D (it suggests trying out sister sizes if youre an odd band number) and oh my god. 34D fits like a DREAM. No side boob. Less back fat (I'll always have SOME) and I honestly just look thinner. My WHOLE boob is in the cup - I guess before the wire was sorta cutting the armpit-boob area in half. I guess cup size isn't just about the "size" if your boobs, but also about the width of them, which I never even considered before.

GO DO THIS!!!

Wow - i had no idea so much went into determining bra size! I definitely need to do this. I always feel like my bras are somewhat ill-fitting. Thanks for the info.

I did this a few months ago and went from a 36C to a 40D (sizing was saying 40DD)! Such an amazing difference.

I was fitted at Nordstroms a few months ago and it was life changing. I was wearing a 44C. I'm a 38F. I couldn't believe it.

Welp, I'm definitely wearing the wrong size, and I just bought this bra a few weeks ago! I was able to easily fit all of my fingers and most of my fist under the band. Thanks for posting, I am definitely going to measure myself tonight.

Need to get fitted again since I stopped breastfeeding for good.... A good fitting bra will make you feel like your not even wearing it. Mine are ao comfy I could sleep in them, but I don't! Chat Icon

Re: Bra Size

Yep. I had a professional fitting done recently. Depending on the bra I went from a 34B to a 30-32 D! What a difference!

Re: Bra Size

I am pregant now so my size is like a 56Z, but before I was I got measured and went from a 34DD to a 32G and it made a huge difference. I was wearing them too loose and the back was riding up. Plus I had the double-bump in the front. Not cute.

I just wanted to add that I went to that store in RF mall. Intimates.
Best Bra fitting ever.

I can't even tell you how much better I look. However, if DH ever finds out how much I spent on two bras he will just die.

I was wearing a 34D and went to a 32DDD/E

WTF? Who wears that size? Chat Icon I hate my boobs.

I used to want to take off my bra the second I stepped in the door b/c I felt like I was wearing a straight jacket. This new size is SO comfortable. I'm still in shock that it even fits.

OK I thought I was doing it all wrong.
when I did the modern method it has me at a 32DD.
The old school way I am like a 36 A/B
I have the smallest boobs ever
The thought of me even looking at a DD cup size is actually ridiculous.
But I see it had you in a DDD too.
So I guess I did it right?
How is that possible?

I think bra sizing has changed over the years. I would go into a store and try one on in your "new" size. I know Target has DD, but I don't know if they go down to a 32 band.

Re: Bra Size

Still confused. Are we adding 4 inches to the band size?

I haven't had a good fitting bra ever. I wonder if this is why?

I didn't add any inches to my band size. I was a 33 so I tried both. 32dd and 34d and found the latter, to my shock and surprise, fit perfectly.

I just measured with modern sizing and have a 33 band size with a 47 inch boob size, which means I am a 32 or 34L? If I do a typical measurement standing up, I get a 43 boob size.

If you are measuring a 33, I would go to a 34.

I did the measurement bent over and and measured a 32G. My actually measurement is 31.
I went to Nordstroms yesterday to get a fitting and she measured me a DD. I told her I would probably be a DDD (thought maybe I measured wrong) and I ended up going up to G.
