Last year I got on a huge nail polish kick and I was changing my polish every few days. I don't have the best nails to begin with and this totally destroyed them. I started using Nailtiques in September and didn't wear any polish again till November. They are so much better now, and I will wear polish maybe once every 2 weeks. I still use Nailtiques even without polish so my nails always look neat and shiny. I will never be so careless again. I think if you have healthy nails that aren't peeling, splitting, or yellowing badly, you're fine, but with my naturally weak nails I just can't wear polish as much as I want to.

Never. I can't imagine going to work with unpolished nails.
I don't think it's the polish that destroys your nails- it's the remover.
So if you are changing your polish more than once a week I can see it causing damaging.

Not so much a break from the polish per say but, I try to use nail polish only once a week. Anymore than that I've found my nails get really dry and start peeling.

Usually my nails are naked! I only get a mani maybe once a month now and I'm usually too lazy to polish myself.

Never. Just this morning I got color gel for the fourth time in a row (i get it biweekly). Before that I was getting regular manis every week. My poor nails.
