DH just informed me he would like me to make lasagna for our superbowl partyl. I’ve never made lasagna before…please share your recipe. With or without meat? …jar or homemade sauce?
Thanks!

Lasagna Recipe Needed
It's in the back of the ronzoni pasta box So simple
16 oz ricotta - add an egg. Little basil and oregano and garlic to taste
Couple jars of sauce - good sauce - or make your own I use a lb of chopped meat also - you don't have to ... But I find it gives the lasagna more flavor
Then just layer it
On the bottom of pan and top - add sauce and on top.. Add parm cheese and mozzarella and let it melt
Cover with foil ... Take off foil last 15 min in oven
Sooooooooo easy! Enjoy!

Re: Lasagna Recipe Needed
I do it pretty much like the recipe posted above. You can also do lasagna roll ups. Easier to serve at a party.
What You'll Need:
1 (28-ounce) jar spaghetti sauce, divided 1 (2-pound) container ricotta cheese 2 (8-ounce) cups mozzarella cheese, 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese 3 eggs 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 1 teaspoon salt 12 to 14 lasagna noodles, prepared according to package directions What To Do:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Pour half the spaghetti sauce over the bottom of a 9- x 13-inch baking dish. In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, the Parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley, and salt until well blended. Spoon cheese mixture over lasagna noodles, distributing evenly, and roll up tightly. Place rollups seam-side down in prepared baking dish; top with remaining sauce. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake 35 to 40 minutes, or until heated through.

Re: Lasagna Recipe Needed
Let me preface by saying I'm not Italian, but I use this recipe and it comes out great every time. I've gotten lots of compliments on it. Tastes even better after a day or two or even if you freeze and reheat it.

Re: Lasagna Recipe Needed
I use the no boil noodles.
I make my sauce and just do everything in layers. I like using the meat mixture.
A lot of people I know don't like sausage so I don't often use that depending on who I'm serving.
I'm not Italian but married into an Italian family and have served this to many of my Italian friends and neighbors and they rave about it.

I also use the no boil noodles... I never did until a coworker told me to, and it was 1000x easier and actually came out great!

Re: Lasagna Recipe Needed
I think it's worth the extra effort to use the regular lasagna noodles. I've tried the no boil and there is a difference in taste. When you take the lasagna noodles out (al dente) I coat them a bit in extra virgin olive oil so you don't have a sticking problem. If you use jarred sauce go with Raios brand. Also if you want to use ground beef they say its best to mix it with the Ricotta.

Re: Lasagna Recipe Needed
I use the no boil and the recipe on the box. I use jarred sauce but I buy a good one- like Victoria, Raos, etc. Not the cheap jar stuff. It makes a difference.

Lasagna Recipe Needed
i use the recipe right off the back of the box, except:
i use turkey meat instead of ground beef. i feel like it locks in flavor more. i sauté garlic & onions in the meat, which adds another level of flavor.

Lasagna Recipe Needed
Garlic and onions very finely chopped in the meat. Use regular lasagna noodles, the no boil ones often end up crunchy and undercooked. Get your ricotta and mix it with an egg, some grated mozzarella cheese and some Pecorino Romano (or Parmesan). This will help firm it up and not be runny. Make your own sauce! It's very simple and the taste difference will be worth it!

Re: Lasagna Recipe Needed
I use the Barilla Oven Ready Lasagne (no boil). I follow the recipe on the box but make my own sauce and use meatloaf mix (veal, pork and beef) for the meat.

Re: Lasagna Recipe Needed
I use the typical recipe except I mix the Ricotta + Meat, it keeps it from drying out.
So my layers are... pasta, meat mixture with ricotta, parmesan sauce, repeat.

This is my FAVE lasagna recipe to make, just don't put any extra salt in it, the original recipe asks for waaayy too much salt.

My MIL is Italian and is an amazing cook. Her lasagna is to die for. I asked her for her family recipe so that we could always have it. This is what she said:
"Buy the Ronzoni oven ready noodles. Then follow the recipe on the back of the box." I couldn't believe it! LOL
