Re: Swimming classes around Wanatagh?

not around Wantagh, but a great place for lessons is Hofstra. They have Saturday morning sessions and they are great. The very beginners are one on one and it goes all the way up to the Hofstra Swim Club. My DD has been going for a while, she is in the swim club, and we love it.

$33 per half hour session or $30 if you're a member. Its cheaper than safety swim and there are only 2 classes going on at the same time!

No experience yet (want to enroll DS soon) but I've also heard a ton of bad about Safe-T-swim.

I also heard it's super expensive for minimal time and they play favorites with kids.

I've been going there for years and I've never experienced anything like that. Both kids are treated the same and based in ability. I have next to no patience for some of the kids teaching there, but all the instructors have been good to my kids

I was told this by at least 4 separate parents that are in different circles from one another.

Glad you had a good experience though.

My girls do the one on one so maybe that's why they are saying that. Fwiw, I can see where it would happen, if that makes sense. But I have not experiences that. My girls are learning how to swim and swim well so I go by that kwim?

I've also had a good experience with Safe-T-Swim. My DS has been swimming there for almost 2 years.

I think it depends on the location. Before I started going, 3 separate families that I know (IRL) recommended the one I go to. I didn't know people had bad experiences with them until I read posts on LIF.
