WWYD - Transition from EI to CPSE
DS will be 3 in Sept. We are starting the transition process now. Currently he is at DDI - Starting Early 3 days a week, he receives speech there 2 days a week. We also have SEIT 2 days a week.
Here's the question - DS was diagnosed by dev ped with autism in November. EI did a psych eval and he was not diagnosed autistic, though the psych could understand why the diagnosis was given. She just did want to label him so early and felt that he could overcome it. That is when we received increased services. He started DDI in Dec.
Academically he is far beyond where they would expect a child his age to be. Socially and developmentally he is significantly delayed.
When I do the initial interview with the school do I mention the prior evals for autism? I know that they do psych and not special ed evals at the school level. If I don't mention it, will they look at him for it? I don't know what to do?

There is no need to mention it if they are providing the services you are looking for. If they start backpeddling on what he needs, then tell them.
