Need Skin Care Advice

I tried looking at past threads about this topic and my head is spinning. I never really used any skin care products besides acne creams. I have had very bad acne until I was about 25 years old. Once I had my daughter my acne was virtually gone but I have very bad scarring. My skin is oily in my t-zone area but dry otherwise. I have always had dark circles under my eyes. I use a daily moisturizer but that is the extent of my skin care. I am 31 years old and I know that my skin is changing but I have no idea how to take care of it. I know I can go to Ulta and Sephora for some advice but I don't want to be persuaded into buying expensive products. I want to know what really works and what might be good for my skin. Please share what skin cleanser you use, moisturizer, etc. I am in desperate need of help. Thanks for the help!!

malin + goetz jojoba face scrub! my skin cleared after a week of using it. and i recently ran out of it for a few days and i got 2 pimples. ALL of their products are wonderful! i also use an overnight acne treatment. its basically sulfer. u put i on before bed directly on the pimple, and it dries it out. and their DETOX mask is AWESOME!!!!!!

I agree with less being more. Since you said you had very bad acne before, do you know what caused it? Have you ever seen a dermatologist? That may be the way to go and then maybe they can refer you to a specific type of facial, etc.

ETA: I use Neutrogena Grapefruit Wash and Olay lotion in the morning and then Ponds Chamomile wipes at night to take off my make up and then Olay night cream.

It's definitely hereditary. My dad, brother, and sister all have acne and scarring. It sucks!

I need to start doing this. I used to do facials years ago and just never kept up with it. I need to make this part of my routine.

My skin is also oily in the t zone and dry everywhere else. I am currently using Mary Kay's miracle set in combo/oily since I became a consultant 6 months ago. My skin has never felt this soft and I notice my pores are getting smaller with daily cleansing. (I do wash with a MK cleansing brush) They also have an amazing eye cream. FM me if you would like more info or free samples.

Alpha hydrox has helped my skin immensely. I also have scarring as well as uneven skin tone. My face is the smoothest it's felt in years. I bought the face wash and lotion on Amazon. I use them only at night.

Need Skin Care Advice

I have an oily t-zone and dry else where. After years of trying things I found less is really more. I use coconut oil. Weird I know but it seriously works and I don't feel or look greasy at all. In the shower I scrape about a teaspoon out in to my hands. Rub them together to liquify it and rub it in my whole face and neck. Then wash it off with a warm wet wash cloth. After the shower I use Garnier moisture gel. The pink one for dry skin. This also works AMAZING for taking make-up off. I use nothing else! Even waterproof mascara comes right off and it's safe to use on your eyes. Give it a try!
