Overnight Dog Camp Recommendations
Can anyone recommend an overnight dog camp? we will be away for 3 days during the summer. normally my sister or parents take Sapphire when we travel, but for this trip they are unable to to take her.
i dont want her sitting in a cage for 3 days. I am looking for a place that will interact and play with her.
I'm also considering payiing a friend to stay at my house with her while I am away, but i am concerned that my friend works long days and will also want to go out at night; leaving Sapphire alone for more that 12 hours in a day
TIA

Overnight Dog Camp Recommendations
Can't say enough about Houndstown USA! Not sure where you are located but they have 3 locations -- Port Jeff, Ronkonkoma, and Farmingdale. I take my guy, Bruno, to the Farmingdale location for doggie daycare on days when my work schedule keeps me away for 10-12 hours. They offer boarding, but the dog will NOT be caged all day. They will be out with the dogs for the better part of the day, and then each dog has its own "townhouse" for the night -- small room that has a full glass door so they don't feel trapped. I believe the price is $41 a night and that includes a full day of doggie daycare, as well as the overnight boarding. You bring your own food, toys, bed, etc. They have a website, but would require you to take the dog in before the actual stay for a temperament evaluation to make sure they get along with the other dogs!

We used the overnight at the farmingdale location. They were great.

Not sure where you are located but we used Petsmart in Lake Grove. My dog was there for a week. We did the option of having him in the day camp during the day (9-5) and they take him out additional times after that. You can also have special treats given to the dog as well such as a kong treat or ice cream. We brought in our own food and additional treats to give to him. I believe they feed the dogs Science Diet. You can also call them any time to check up on how your dog is doing.
