Sliding Door
Has anyone had a standard, 6' sliding door installed recently and can provide the cost? I just want to make sure we're not getting totally ripped off.
I CANNOT believe how expensive one sliding door and one window will be costing us when we do our remodel. Insanity!

Re: Sliding Door
Lowes sells Anderson 6' sliding doors that you have to assemble. Our contractor did it and I think it took half hour, the door I think was $500

We paid about 1900 for an Anderson but one of the higher quality ones from a building supply place. You can definitely get cheaper ones from lowes or HD. They have cheaper ones at the warehouse you can order, but we needed something that they had In stock since we needed right away(they were putting a door where a window had been previously)

Re: Sliding Door
Last summer we had to replace the glass in one of the sliders in our back glass door. Just the glass, not both pains nor the insert cost $750 for the glass and install. I got quotes from about 3 different places and they were all the same.
