Prime in Huntington?

I am trying to choose between a restaurant that I really like & Prime, somewhere that I've never been. Is this place really amazing? I know the views are pretty from it's website.
What dishes do you recommend? tia!

Prime in Huntington?

Food is eh. We go there for the view. It's overpriced.

You can't beat the location, the view, the fire pit outside, etc.. the food is better since they got a new chef.

IMO, it's worth going to because nothing is better on a nice summer night and being out on the water.

Don't get me wrong, we still go there a lot...just want you to have realistic expectations.

I didn't think it was amazing. It was a "scene" for sure and I'm not into being amidst a scene. I think I'd try it again for lunch, but probably wouldn't go back for dinner--I'd rather go to an actual steak house...

Prime in Huntington?

IMO I would never choose prime. THe food is not good and is overpriced. The staff is not friendly and the crowd is "unpleasent" to put it nicely.

We went there 2 weeks ago and feel the same. Each table was treated differently by our waiter depending on who they "were".Chat Icon

Re: Prime in Huntington?

My suggestion would be go to your fave for dinner, and head to Prime for drinks later on - the view and deck are a good time - but the food isn't the best and it's NOT cheap

I wasn't impressed. It was very expensive and the food wasn't really mind blowing IMO.

ITA with this. We noticed this as well. I found it off putting.

The food is ok. If we go there for dinner, it's more for atmosphere than what's on the plate. We're regulars on the weekend for drinks, although my DH does like to grab some sushi at the bar.

Prime in Huntington?

I like the food, I've always gotten the same dish and it's very good - but it is overpriced for what you get.

Re: Prime in Huntington?

I have eaten both outside at the more casual section and inside. The food is defiantly better inside. Its totally overpriced and not as good as other steakhouses. But its the same money. The restaurant is beautiful and the view is great. The food isn't bad. Its just not worthy of its price tag, but there is a trade off for the view. I wouldn't say to not go there, but be prepared for a spendy evening out.
