Kind of disappointed
And it's so )#*$^)* hard to be all "optimistic & positive" and all that crap right now.
Yesterday was CD10. First round of IUI. Secondary IF, I have PCOS. Went in for bw & us after being on 5 days of gonal F (did 3 months of clomid & TI with no luck, I took 2 months off because I was mentally done, and now starting this first IUI). I was on the lowest dose possible of gonal because I overproduce. All we have is 1 follie measuring 22. All I got on the lowest dose of clomid was 1. I cried. A lot. I KNOW it only takes 1 - I know that - but I was hoping for at least 2. The second "biggest one" is just a 14. Anyway I triggered last night (even though my levels showed my body wasn't ready for it) and I need to go in for this IUI tomorrow and I &_&^$_#_ hate it and I hate that I can't be even the tiniest bit optimistic and that I feel like this is all a total ^)#*^$)* waste

I get all of what you are saying. There is no crystal ball :( Hang in there and tomorrow when you do the transfer your mood will likely pick up as you grow more hopeful while waiting.
It is very challenging with all the highs and lows....I think what you are experiencing is normal.

Re: Kind of disappointed
1 good one is better than overproducing follies. If you had too many, then you would have had to cancel this month. This way, you still have a chance!
If this was your first month on injectables, be patient. Your RE is learning how you respond. You can also ask to come in sooner.

Yeah I know. You ladies are right. I just feel awful going into this with an "I don't give a $hit" attitude. When I really do. Thank you for listening to me vent.

Re: Kind of disappointed
You don't want to have too much medication causing potential egg quality issues, especially with PCOS. And you def don't want to hyper stim. The RE will figure it out for you. Sorry you are disappointed but hope for the best. It does only take 1 good egg!

Hopefully you can up your dosage. I had 6 follies my first Gonal cycle - bfn. Next three, I had eight follies each time, and bfp with just one :)

I completely agree. I felt the same disappointment my first injectable cycle. I was so sure I would make 4 or 5 follicles, and was devastated when I only had 2 and had to trigger. I was on stims for almost 2 weeks, and only made 2.
But like the PP said, your doctor is seeing how you respond, so they have a better idea on what to do next time around should this cycle not work, but DO NOT give up hope, because you never know!

I completely understand your frustration. My second IUI I was on injectibles and clomid. I went in to get monitored and I only had one that was even close at 17. There was only one other one in there and it was measuring 13. I wound up ovulating on my own and I had it in my head that this wouldn't work since neither of the follicles were the right size.
I'm 23 weeks with now!
