Question about IVF scheduling....
Hi ladies, I've kind of been MIA for the past few weeks. DH and I have been taking a break until we can do IVF around august/september. Some of you might remember that I work nights as a nurse, well I was given the opportunity to take a day shift position and I'd love to take it but my only reserve is this infertility crap! I go to LI IVF and monitoring times are from 6:30-8am. My current job is from 7a-7p. I know when I was doing IUI's I had to go so often for monitoring. So I would just like to know what IVF monitoring is like, is it more than IUI, same, less? I'd appreciate your input ladies thanks!!

Re: Question about IVF scheduling....
IVF monitoring is more than IUI. Especially once you start Ganirelix towards the end of your stim, you are there every day.

Exactly. With IVF you basically start every 2-3 days and then you're there daily. But it also depends on how long you need to stim. I only had to stim for 8 days so the monitoring didn't feel overwhelming for me. Others stim for longer, though.

Re: Question about IVF scheduling....
Ok I guess nights it is then! Lol. Just one more question.... Do you need to be on rest for a certain amount of time like after the retrieval or transfer? Thanks ladies. Just trying to see if I would need to take some sick or personal time.

Question about IVF scheduling....
I was on modified bed rest for 2 days after transfer. For retrieval I went back to work the next day.

Re: Question about IVF scheduling....
I was sore after retrieval. I had a lot of pressure. I stayed in bed for that day. By the next day, I was ok to be up and around. Then again, we only got 10 eggs so I don't know if that matters.
For transfer, I stayed in bed 2 days. You don't have to, but I wanted to. Every person is different. Being that you are on your feet for your job, I would ask RE for their opinion.

Re: Question about IVF scheduling....
I was fine the day of retrieval, sore the day after, but I still was able to go to work. I didn't rest after transfer.

Re: Question about IVF scheduling....
When I went to RS of NY, I was going all the time for monitoring with IVF #1. I switched to SIRM for IVF #2 and I hardly went in at all lol it was weird how they managed that. They also have all day monitoring hours there so it made it easier for me if I worked in the morning.
