Has anyone ever catered Chinese?
I'm so tired of italian and/or heros...I want to do something different...
Was thinking of catering chinese for a bday party..Would that be strange??? No kids and/or old timers are invited.
As far as the menu I am thinking:
House LoMein Sesame Chicken Beef and Broccoli in Garlic Sauce Veggie Fried Rice Steamed Pork Dumplings Mixed Vegitables in brown sauce Sushi platters
Anything else??

Sounds great to me! I have relatives that have done several parties at a chinese restaurant bc it always goes over well. They do family style and it's great to do something different. I would maybe add one more main dish. Maybe something with shrimp.

I think it's a great idea and I'd love to go to a party with Chinese food! Maybe add some egg rolls or spring rolls.

I would do veg dumplings, not pork, so that way any vegetarians can have dumplings too. Or maybe do veg spring rolls in addition.

What is a good shrimp dish - sweet and sour? I usually order shrimp and broccoli but I am going to go with beef this time.

Sometimes sweet and sour at Chinese restaurants is super deep fried with the red sauce on the side. Very greasy. I LOVE shrimp and string beans or shrimp and cashews.

I've done it for my DS family bday party. I just order a bunch of different things and we all just pass around, there are usually about 14 of us and there's always enough to please everyone.

You can do shrimp with mixed vegetables or shrimp in lobster sauce.

Re: Has anyone ever catered Chinese?
theres a rice called Young chow fried rice, its a mix of vegetables, shrimp, pork, and chicken. DH LOVES this, thanks to my dad. It's another good option.
I wouldn't do sweet n sour shrimp, too sticky and greasy. Maybe kung pao shrimp or shrimp with mixed veg in garlic or brown sauce?
