How much food should I have catered? Outdoor 1st birthday party....
Again, I plan to have my DD's 1st birthday Memorial Day weekend, in my yard. I will have 2 seperate parties and each party will have about 30-40 people. I'd like to have an American hero, an Italian hero, macaroni and potato salad and then some hot dishes too. How many things of hot dishes do you think I should get and what else should I buy/cater? This is my first "big" party and I want to have enough food plus a ton more!

Sounds like DH's 1st b-day party last year. We also had in Memorial Day weekend outside. WE had about 80 pple this is what was on list:
chips, pretzels, etc spread in bowls on tables bags of goldfish and other chips for the kids so they each had their own 4 big trays of mixed sandwiches (wraps, heroes, pinwheels) mac and potato salad 2 trays of chicken nuggets and fries for the kids large sheet cake trap of mixed bakery cookies bowl of fruit we also had bottled water, beer, juice boxes, sodas, etc
There was plenty of food We didn't do any hot foods except for the chicken nuggets and fries for the kids. THere were so many sandwiches and wraps. Plus, we didn't want to worry about the oven and getting everything out on time. We wanted to enjoy and stay outside. This year for his 2nd bday we're also doing his party Memorial Day weekend. Probably wraps and heroes again from Wegmans since it was a hit. Less pple though
