I use Kidz Therapy in Hauppauge for PT and I will be using them for OT in August. I Love the PT my DD sees and the OT my add will see seems really nice. I am an OT but have never worked for them, it just so happens they are located closest to my house. Honestly, for the most part the therapist matters more than the agency.

I'm waiting for an OT right now from Kidz Therapy. They said they are having a hard time finding one.

I don't have OT for my DS but I use All About Kids for speech and ABA and like their therapist so far.

We had a good experience with SEIT from Kidz Therapies.
Didn't use the other place, but honestly I had two different OTs and wasn't impressed with either one of them.
I heard good OTs can be hard to find.
I also heard it's a better experience if you have the actual time to take them to the OT gym which as a working mom, I did not.
NY Therapies is who provided OT for us.

This was my problem finding an ABA team leader from All About Kids. Took 2 months before we got started.

OTs are in high demand. Ours was from NY Therapies, I think. Kidz Therapy contracts with my district for school aged services, and we have had special ed teachers from there and good experiences.

I had to put it back on the school to find.
I even tried going through my own insurance and wasn't having luck because of wait times.

If the agency you chose can't find an OT, just call around to a bunch of agencies and see if they have someone. It's the best time of year to find an OT because our schedules are more empty then towards the middle end of the school year when they fill up again.

My classes start in Sept for my son. Pt/OT
Do you bring child there or are you in EI?
I hope I wont have this problem

This can be overwhelming because there are so many on the list. Playing phone tag is super difficult too if you have a FT job and other responsibilities.
And when you call, say the first 6 and are told no, it's kind of discouraging at that point.
JMO.

Contact a bunch of different agencies. Alot of therapists are contracted with a few agencies so you will find one. We always got our OT therapists through NY Therapy and never had an issue finding one. We also used Metro Therapy for our ABA and speech and also never had a problem finding a therapist.

I don't really think that reflects on the agency itself. Most therapists are just contracted by agencies and work for multiple agencies at once. So the 2 not so good therapists you had, could also work for someone other than New York therapy, so not a reflection of the specific agency itself.
I think that New York therapy, metro, all about kids, and kidz therapy have the largest pool of therapists.

Love our OT at All About Kids in Plainview. Of course it depends what therapist you get but ours is the head of the OT dept and she is so knowledgeable and nice yet firm. If she's any indicator of how the rest of the therapists are then I think you have a good shot at getting someone great.
We also use Kidz Therapy in Garden City, but for speech. So I can't comment on OT there but I can tell you that it is an absolutely crazy busy agency. I can never get over the number of people in that waiting room at any giving time. So I guess they are popular!
