Water Filtration system
Has anyone done this for their home? Thinking about getting the water quality inspected and possibly installing a system. Not sure where to start.
Thoughts? TIA!

Re: Water Filtration system
I just bought a whole house carbon filtration system and a reverse osmosis system for the sink. I bought both at Puriteam.com, I have the PureHomeX1000 as whole house system and the easy change filter RO system. Great units for decent price, and 6 month mo DH back guarantee. I now have to find a plumber to install it. Check the water quality report for your municipality. Suffolk county has horrible water due to the pesticides from farms, the multiple toxic plumes and pesticide runoff from lawns. Many have speculated (including myself) that that's why the cancer rate is higher in Suffolk than Nassau.

Thanks! I don't know much about it all.. just that I also have concerns about the water out here. Im from queens so I never had this issue and the water tastes funky! Even after its been through the britta filter. Did you have someone test it?
Edited to ask, how do I check the water quality report?

If you're suffolk go on their site and you can look up the report for your town. They take like 500 different samples with some towns. You may need a softener too, depending on where you're located. But a reverse osmosis system should be just fine for drinking and cooking. I worry a lot about the toxins in the water for showers, baths and washing produce, so I opted for the whole house system too.
