We are going crazy with this...it's tankless...I think it's heated in the boiler..It takes a while to get it to heat up for showers.
Is there a trick to this system???

We have a Bosch tankless hot water heater. We just had it installed in June of last year. It's powered by natural gas, which also powers our heating system. Yes, it does take a minute or two to get hot water, particularly at times when it hasn't been used in awhile, like overnight. But once it gets hot, it stays hot for as long as you run it. No tricks really. Just takes a little getting used to.

We have that type of system. We have found that putting a water saver shower head on the master bath shower worked great. It uses way less water so we have hot water longer. We also have the thermostat up very high on our boiler that makes the hot water better too because I like really hot showers. I just let the shower run for about a minute before I get in, its always hot by then. If its freezing out & all the heat in your house is trying to come on & you just did a load of wash with warm water & then you try to take a shower, forget it. It will be cold or intermittent. Our heat comes on to warm up the house again at 4:30 am, DH is in the shower between 5 & 5:15. I don't get in the shower till 7am so it always works out fine. Even when our kids are taking showers in the morning or if we have guests if you just give 15 minutes between showers its fine. We don't have natural gas as an option here, only oil so there is no economical way to add a hot water heater. The electric ones are $$$ to run. If we add solar power we'll get a giant electric hot water heater.

It takes more than a few minutes to get it warmed up...sometimes it gets warm and then goes cold and this happens only with the shower...sinks are fine
