How many days? what are you going to be doing?

I am a freak & I plan out exactly what I am wearing each day- so it's not just 5 days, 5 outfits, so I make sure I have what I need for the right activity. Also, keep in mind if you need day/evening clothes.

Also, if I am going to re-where something I try to plan that out, so pieces coordinate & I am not wearing something 2 days in a row.

( yes, it takes me a long time to pack, but it makes getting ready easier & I rarely over/under pack.)

Will you be at the beach/pool during most of the days? If so, then a few bathing suits & cover-ups for those days and then an outfit for each night. If you know there are days that you will not be doing the beach/pool thing, then an outfit for those days also.

Yes, this is how I do it.
Enough bikinis for however many days I will be on the beach/at the pool.
Cover ups
Flip flops

Then an outfit for each night to go out to dinner/go out in

Then a few day type outfits- sundresses pack easily, tanks and shorts , for walking around town, sight seeing etc.

i stopped over packing. if its a beach vacation, all you need is one swimsuit. i dont pack more than one. i wash it after each use and hang to dry as soon as i get to the room. as far as clothing, a couple of dresses to go out in and some shorts and a few tops. i used to pack 20+ dresses, 10 pairs of shoes... im so over it.

Re: bathing suits. I usually bring 2 if I will be in the water almost everyday. Otherwise- one is enough - it will dry between uses.

Yes I find that sometimes it's not totally dry by the next day even if I hang it all night. Like it's still damp. So at least 2.
But I am a bathing suit hound, so I have tons!

Will you access to a washer/dryer? If so, that would help you bring less. Also, it really helps to know what you will be doing. Zip climbing, hiking, and the adventurous stuff require different stuff than just lounging by the pool/beach.

I have learned not to over pack, so I would actually plan on wearing things twice.

It also depends on what you are doing. 2 bathing suits. I would bring a one piece if you plan on doing water stuff (water skiing, etc.)

2-3 shorts, 2 tanks, 2 tees, 1 pair of pants, 2 summer dresses, a shawl, a sweatshirt, maybe even a rain coat. Flip flops, dress sandals, hiking shoes/sneakers (again, not if you are on the beach all day).

Re: How many change of clothes for 15 days?

I would bring enough for eight days and do laundry part way though.
Three bathing suits
Two cover ups
Water shoes
Sneakers
Sandals
Pjs
9 underwear
8 bras
8 shirts
6 shorts
1 jeans
1 pants
1 dress
1 cardigan
1 hat

I don't usually do laundry. Only been on 1 cruise though. I would bring 10-15 outfits planning on reusing some. A few pants, a few dresses, etc.

Def. 3 bathing suits and 2-3 cover-ups.
I usually just do formal shoes for dining, flip flops for casual time and sneakers for excursions.

Depends really on what you will be doing? lounging until dinner? active excursions? sightseeing?

If you are doing anything active you need a lot more clothes. 1) type of clothes, like gym wear or special socks but 2) you will also get dirty and sweaty.

Re: How many change of clothes for 15 days?

We went on our honeymoon for almost two weeks and I packed as light as I could.

I first put aside clothes for any specific activities we planned on doing (ziplining, ATV tour, etc.) From there, I packed 6 bathing suits that I was able to mix and match and just rinsed them in the sink when I wanted to wear them again.

I tried to bring cover-ups that I would also be able to wear out to eat if needed. I brought a pair of shorts and a pair of capris and two different tops to wear with each. The rest of my clothes were all light sundresses (I think I had 10 in total) that didn't take up much room at all. I'm the type of person that needs options though, you could definitely get away with only 5-6 and just wear them more than once.

The only time I wore anything other than a bathing suit was when we were on excursions and when we went to dinner.

Thanks ladies. Great tips. Going to pack basics and take more shirts and limit my shoe options. No more over packing for me.
